Emergency Food
When someone calls Senior Neighbors asking for assistance in getting food, it is treated as an emergency.
One of the essential services which Senior Neighbors provides to Kent County residents 60 and over is emergency food. Seniors on fixed incomes sometimes are faced with the most difficult of choices: Whether to pay the rent/property taxes, buy an essential prescription or their food supply. It can be a devastating choice.
The case managers at Senior Neighbors can help make these choices less devastating. The Emergency food program is one of those ways.
* Senior Neighbors can refer older adults to a variety of local pantries and help them get the food to their homes
- Senior Neighbors can provide limited quantities of emergency food from the agency.
- Ensure Liquid Nutritional Supplement is available at a reduced cost. A doctor's prescription is required for this service.
For assistance in obtaining emergency food, call Senior Neighbors at (616) 459-6019.
