Tax Assistance

Senior Neighbors offers income tax preparation assistance at several Senior Neighbors Centers, as well as to seniors who are homebound.

State, simple Federal & Local: This service focuses on the state of Michigan tax credit forms (Homestead Property Tax, Home Heating, and Prescription Drug credits), as well as simple Federal, state, and local income tax returns.

Appointments: Appointments to schedule tax preparation assistance can be made by calling the nearest Senior Neighbors Center or the Senior Neighbors Central Office at (616) 459-6019. This service is available during the income tax preparation season which begins the first week of February, and ends in mid-April. Tax counselors are experienced and trained by AARP. Donations for this service are welcome.
